At Affordable Iron Doors, we exclusively use quality-made 5/8" solid stocks for all our hand forged doors. Our door thickness is 2 " (many other doors are 1- 1/2")  This gives your iron door a much more substantial feel and appearance. Affordable Iron Doors insists that all scrollwork and designs be made of solid 5/8” wrought iron stock. Many other doors use tubing or cast aluminum, but these materials have no place in a premium iron entry door. All Affordable Iron Doors are fully welded, 100% iron. All welds are ground and finished smooth.  Every door made by Affordable Iron Doors will be injected with Polyurethane foam of the best quality to ensure a proper seal and promote energy efficiency. The use of fillers such as Bondo has been the industry standard for many iron doors on the market in the past.  Fillers are used to cover up improper welding and grinding, but over time these areas will crack due to the different expansion rates of the door and the filler material. Absolutely no fillers are ever used in the building of an American made Affordable Iron Door.

Every entry door made at Affordable Iron Doors is finished with a top quality,

First we start with a Zinc primer to virtually eliminate any kind of rust, then a Black Epoxy enamuel , copper faux finish and last a clear coat to ensure your door looks great for many years to come.  Some homeowners choose to stay with this rich black satin finish, but a majority of customers at Affordable Iron Doors opt for our hand applied, medium or dark bronze faux finishes, for which our Epoxy basecoat provides the perfect foundation.

HINGED GLASS MAKES CLEANING AFFORDABLE IRON DOORS A BREEZE

Our entry doors incorporate a separate swing out-unit which houses the glass. This provides easy access to the exterior glass for cleaning. One of the benefits of the 2" door thickness we use at Affordable Iron Doors is that it allows us to have a flush fitting swing-out glass panel.  Having the glass panel fit flush gives our door a cleaner appearance on the interior side. As for latching, we use simple design that opens with a flick of the hand. These are not only secure, but provide for a better appearance than small threated iron knobs.  At Affordable Iron Doors, we never forget the importance of every detail.
